Our Collection explores the relationship between object, ritual and presence - Offering tactile pieces, designed to encourage pause, reflection and mindful daily practices.

Grounding Companions, Encouraging Pause

The beginning of this collection wasn’t an image, or a sketch … It was a series of questions:

How can we inspire moments of presence in the every day?

What turns a decorative object, into a comfort … a companion? Can it be both?

Can stillness be designed?

~

For months, we collected observations, rather than ideas. We documented the experiences, the environments, the objects in which we felt calm and grounded.

We looked to nature first - the natural habitats, atmospheres, elements, materials etc, that invite us as humans to pause -

… And then we looked to ourselves and investigated how we can hold stillness within our own mind, body & spirit.

We noticed how certain natural objects invited us to slow down - not because of what they looked like but because of how they made us feel.

Texture. Form. Weight. Reflectivity. Pattern.

These weren’t just details - They became our design principles.

And it was from these that our collection began to emerge …

Exploration of Body + Energy, in sketch

This collection emerged through personal experience and on-going research into emotional well-being, meditation and the sensory relationship between body & material objects.

Developed during a period of reflection on rest and reconnection, the pieces were designed as subtle companions for moments of stillness - Objects intended to be seen, held, felt & experienced.

{2.0} - Extracts from initial concept research into body placement & energy movement

The process was intentionally tactile, as is the case with the creation of every Of Silva object...

Each piece beginning in clay, intuitively formed, allowing organic shapes and textures to emerge naturally through making. Sculpted to sit comfortably within the palm, between the fingers or against the body.

The collection explores how touch, materiality, weight and form can influence emotional experience and support mindful awareness.

Some pieces are smooth and rounded, others textured and irregular - Reflecting an understanding that comfort is found in different places, for different people; That meditation is a deeply personal experience.

We ask each person to choose intuitively - Choose what you are drawn towards ...

Because the things we hold close to use can shape how we feel, move and reconnect with ourselves.
